The Humane Society of Monoroe County's COVID-19 Update

We understand there is a lot of concern with COVID-19, President Trump's State of Emergency for the United States and MI Governor Whitmer's decree to ban gatherings over 50 people.

The Shelter is open with normal operating hours by appointments for approved adoption applications only.

The HSMC Thrift Store is open limited hours by appointment only for customers to shop the store. Thrift Store's Temporary limited hours are:

Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday: 10AM - 2PM

Thursday and Friday: 2PM - 6PM

Customers must enter through the back door and appointments are in 30 minute sessions. Staff and customers are required to maintain Social Distancing and keep 6 feet apart along with wearing a face mask.

To set up an appointment, please call the Thrift Store at (734)240-0562 ext. 2 or email the Manager at Jordin.Kirkpatrick@MonroeHumane.com.

You can also follow our Facebook page at the link below for any other updates about HSMC.

The following events were postponed. The Bedford Trade Fair booth  for  March 21-22, more details to come later .  The Annual Auction on April 4th with the theme Margaritaville, is postponed to 2021

Currently there is no evidence that COVID-19 impacts companion pets:
